Industrial Clients > Forest Management and Monitoring

Foresters Incorporated can help with a broad range of management and monitoring activities for industrial landowners.

  • Management Plans: We provide comprehensive management plans to help you make the most of your timber resources. Our plans typically include comprehensive inventory information; forest stand typing; property history as relevant; current insect, disease, storm, or other issues; silvicultural prescriptions; and recommended activities.

  • Monitoring Plans: With growing influence from regulations, certification, public pressure, and related factors, forest monitoring plans are becoming increasingly important for industrial landowners. Drawing on a team of experts that include biometricians, wildlife specialists, and foresters, we can design a monitoring plan that meets your company's needs; our field foresters can also conduct forest monitoring to fulfill the plan as needed.

  • Stand Delineation, Harvest Layout & Planning: Collecting site quality and related stand-level data in the field can significantly enhance many inventory projects. We combine such information with inventory data to lay out harvest units that maximize volume and value and provide a basis for planning future management activities. Incorporating stand level data into inventory databases helps you make the best possible management decisions regarding harvest activity and intensity.

  • Stand Prescriptions: If you are concerned with prescriptions only, our foresters address and recommend silvicultural prescriptions by stand unit or on a tract basis. We apply our knowledge and experience for the prescription markings of timber stand improvement, crop tree release, thinning treatments, and harvest marking.

  • Post-Harvest Services: To help you with mapping and managing your harvested units, we provide the following services: monumentation of harvest boundaries using Global Positioning System equipment; BMP inspections; seeding of landings, roads and firebreaks with seed mixes that serve your company's objectives; and sampling to determine regeneration success.

  • Maintenance Services: We can help with any of the regularly scheduled maintenance activities that maintain your property in good condition until time of harvest:

    • Locating and marking boundary lines
    • Performing timber trespass inspections and evaluations
    • Inspecting and evaluating current insect and disease problems
    • Evaluating storm and ice damage
    • Assessing road/trail erosion damage
    • Mapping forest attributes for inclusion in your GIS database
